> MSc in International Business and Management for Design

Objectives

Designers and managers, develop your conceptual, analytical teambuilding and communication skills in an international business and management context in the design industry.

The EID also delivers the 'MSc in International Business & Management for Design' which is accredited by the University of Salford, UK. To see Salford's rankings you should consult a relevant ranking table, for example the Financial Times index of rankings or the Times Higher Educational Supplement (www.thes.co.uk/worldrankings) or the Salford University's own web site. The rankings are based on different criteria, therefore different universities are ranked differently according to the criterion in question, eg research publications, number of computers on campus, teaching staff qualifications, size of premises, results of students, jobs obtained etc.

To situate our International Design School within the French educational system (see Q4), it is important to know that our school was set up in 1986 and is a public institution, managed by the regional Chamber of Commerce in the Var area, South of France. (French Chambers of Commerce are mostly financed by company funds and tax). Our MSc is officially recognised by the French State National Ministry of Education & Research and by Salford University, U.K. (see below). We have recently set up a another close partnership with our neighbouring management school in Marseille, therefore our Design and Business & Technology schools are now called EUROMED TOULON but at the same time they both keep their own specific identity, profile and specialisations.

EID Student profile

The students whom we accept in the EID have a fine arts, technical or basic design background and are recruited 2 years minimum after the Baccalauréat (equivalent to GCSE ‘A’ levels) with a relevant 2-year university-level qualification (equivalent to an HND).

They are trained in Design but also in Business and Management, alternating between theoretical lectures/classes and relevant practical work experience in companies.

The first year of their studies corresponds to a Bachelor’s degree with their second and third final year corresponding to a Master’s degree programme. 95% of all our EID students find employment within 6 months and their starting salaries are high : on average 34,000 Euros per annum.

In the international field, the EID is very active, with many international partnerships with prestigious foreign universities, notably our MSc in International Business & Management for Design in partnership with the University of Salford, UK, and various exchanges, eg with the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, Ireland. We are also in close partnership with the state-run university of Toulon and the Marseille group of Business Schools - EUROMED.
